چکیده

This study was conducted in the Animal Science Departmental farm to compare growth performance of broiler chickens reared on three on-form feeds and commercial feeds. Broilers were fed six types feed during starter phase between 0-5 weeks age finisher 5-9weeks. Results showed that although one outperformed all other terms weight gain efficiency; overall on-farm comparable those even where contained sub-optimal levels energy Ilowever, cost / kg significantly lower for There significant differences (P<0.05) furm diets (T1-T3) (T4 -T6) term per gain. The relatively cheaper than It is concluded from this widespread use hy poultry farmers can be justified basis effectiveness profitability considerutions. However risks associated with practice should a matter concern farmers, research extension personnel. therefore recommended quality regulatory agencies as urgency find ways by which some nieasure control applied

Ileal microbiota composition of broilers fed various commercial diet compositions.

Microbiota plays a role in the release and absorption of nutrients from feed components, thereby affecting digesta composition and moisture content of the excreta. The objective of the current study was to determine the effects of 5 different diets varying in ingredients (medium-chain fatty acids, nonstarch polysaccharides, and starch) on the microbiota composition of ileal digesta of broiler c...

Comparison of antibiotic supplementation versus a yeast-based prebiotic on the cecal microbiome of commercial broilers

Prebiotics are defined as fermentable food ingredients that selectively stimulate beneficial bacteria in the lower gastrointestinal tract of the host. The purpose of this study was to assess growth performance of broilers and the cecal microbial populations of an antibiotic, BMD50, supplemented birds compared to broiler chickens fed the prebiotic, Biolex® MB40. Weight response data including fe...

Efficacy of multistrain direct-fed microbial and phytogenetic products in reducing necrotic enteritis in commercial broilers.

Our laboratory is evaluating the efficacy of direct-fed microbials (DFM) and phytogenic products to control Clostridium perfringens, a gram-positive organism associated with decreased performance and morbidity and mortality associated with necrotic enteritis, as well as some recent human food safety issues. Three experiments were conducted to evaluate a DFM (PoultryStar) and a phytogenic produc...
